“Are remote jobs going away?”

It’s the question I’m hearing repeatedly from candidates, and the answer is a resounding “no.” Remote jobs are still very much a thing and aren’t going away anytime soon.

However, it is true that work-from-home jobs aren’t as prevalent or as easy to get as they were a couple of years ago. If you want to land one, it helps to know what kind of positions to look for.

I’ll share the best remote jobs companies are hiring for in 2025, but first, let’s examine what’s happening in the remote work world.

Remote Work Landscape in 2025

According to the latest numbers from Gallup, 26% of people in positions that can be done remotely work exclusively from home, while 55% work hybrid schedules. Those numbers held pretty steady throughout 2024, indicating a settling. Despite big headlines about companies calling workers back to the office, many organizations have found a happy equilibrium where specific roles appear poised to stay remote or hybrid indefinitely.

Employers have recognized the value of remote work in reducing operational costs, increasing employee satisfaction, and accessing a wider talent pool. Notable companies like Microsoft, Shopify, and Adobe have committed to making remote work a lasting part of their company culture.

Though you’ll likely face more competition for fully remote roles than onsite ones, the jobs exist. From customer service to tech roles, remote positions are available in nearly every industry. You can qualify for a wide selection of work-from-home jobs with the right combination of tenacity and technical skills.

Here are 20 of the best remote positions currently in demand. These positions offer competitive pay, career growth, and the ability to work from anywhere.
